What to see in Sorrento
You are in the centre of Sorrento, the ideal location for exploring the town on foot and reaching the main places of interest. As soon as you leave the car park, look out over the Vallone dei Mulini, which traces its origins back over thirty-five thousand years: you will see an ancient mill covered in vegetation that was once used for grinding wheat.

Piazza Tasso
Just 20 metres from the car park is Sorrento’s main square, Piazza Tasso, named after Torquato Tasso, the famous Italian poet and writer. The square is the centre of Sorrento’s nightlife, dotted with bars and historic restaurants on all four sides. In the square, you can admire the statue dedicated to Sant’ Antonino, Sorrento’s patron saint, and the Baroque church of the Carmine.

Cloister of St Francis
The Cloister of St Francis is one of the most evocative places in Sorrento, especially at certain times of the day or in the evening, when it becomes a venue for concerts, exhibitions and events. This cloister is part of an ancient 14th-century monastery that has been influenced by various architectural styles over the centuries. Access to the Cloister is free.

The Correale Museum
The Correale Museum is the former ancestral home of the Correale dynasty, which later became a house museum where today, many works of art are collected. The Correale Museum also has a garden where you can walk among Sorrento’s typical citrus-growing pergolas until you reach a breathtaking viewpoint, from which you can photograph the entire Gulf of Naples.

The Hamlet of Marina Grande
Head to the picturesque Marina Grande, set of the film “Scandal in Sorrento” which starred Sofia Loren and Vittorio De Sica, and let yourself be enchanted by this ancient seaside village and its seaside restaurants. If you decide to walk to the village from Via Marina Grande, you will pass through the ancient city gate, dating back to the Greek period.

The Parsano Bastion
Walk the city’s Ancient Viceroyal Walls and visit the Parsano Bastion. Erected in the 4th century A.D., the walls were gradually reinforced until the Bourbon period to defend Sorrento from various incursions, particularly those of the Saracens who put the entire Sorrento peninsula to fire and sword.

The Tarsia Sorrentina Museum
A collection of furniture and objects of typical Sorrentine craftsmanship, with valuable pieces of furniture from the 15th to the 19th centuries by national and Sorrentine wooden inlay masters. At Palazzo Pomarici Santomasi, in the historical centre of Sorrento, you can admire the furnishings and discover ancient craft techniques.

Pompeii is one of Italy’s most important archaeological sites and preserves the remains of the ancient city, submerged by ash and lava after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. To reach Pompeii from Sorrento, you can take the Circumvesuviana railway line and get off at the Pompei Scavi stop.

Fashion, perched houses and restaurants on the beach: Positano is one of the coolest destinations on the Amalfi Coast. To reach Positano from Sorrento, you can choose a take a boat or reach it by car. You will be enchanted by the typical Positano alleys that connect the street to the sea.

Amalfi is the other popular destination on the Amalfi coast. You can reach it from Sorrento by car or by sea. In Amalfi, you can taste an excellent lemon ice cream, visit the beautiful Duomo and lose yourself in its myriad characteristic picturesque lanes.
